Risk Assessment for Exmployees Working In Front of Computers

Employers must ensure that their employees are provided with proper health and safety risk assessment. For businesses with employees working infront of computers all day, following are some tips on how to properly carry out risk assessment:
  •  Check whether your employees are provided with a comfortable adjustable chair or a spacious workstation.
  • Check whether computer equipments provided to employees can be used without them straining: a large screen with high resolution.
  •  Make sure that employees table or workstation is not cluttered with computer wires.
  •  For companies providing company-issued mobile devices such as laptops and tablets, check whether this will not put the employees to higher risks of robbery or assault.
  • Check whether the workstation has adequate lighting.
  •  Check whether the resolution of the computer screen does not have too much glare.
  • Provide regular computer users regular breaks so that they don’t work in front of the computer for long hours.
  • Provide regular eye tests. If necessary, provide computer users with correctional glasses.
  •  Be always on the lookout for computer-related problems such as recurring headaches, backaches and strains on hands or upper limbs.
